Hackney trainer dies

Lowell B. Light, a Hackney pony trainer and exhibitor, died June 26
at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Ill. He was 83.
He loved training and showing Hackney ponies with Light Farms in Wauconda, Ill., and Barrington, Ill. He was a member of the United Profesional Horseman's Association, the Midwest Hackney Association, the American Hackney Horse Society, and the National Equestrian Federation of the United States. Light, of Lake Zurich, Ill., was also a real estate agent for almost 40 years with L.B. Anderson & Co. Inc.
He was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Kentland, Ind. His wife, Jean, died in 1998. His funeral was held June 29 at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home in Wauconda.
