Hackney Horses Appear at Kentucky Horse Park Exhibit and Red Mile

Hackney horses were well represented as part of the rare breeds of England display in conjunction with the “All the Queen’s Horses” exhibit currently appearing at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. The Hackney horses, considered a rare and endangered equine breed, appeared in June as part of the rare breeds display and performed at the display’s British Horse Show in three different disciplines. Competing in addition to nine other breeds, Hackney horses won in the In-Hand, Fine Harness and Dressage divisions.

Hackney horses were also part of the class schedule for the first time at the recent Lexington Junior League Horse Show. Three driving classes; Ladies Single or Pair Phaeton, Open Single Hackney Horse and Single Hackney Horse Championship were added to the schedule to include the breed.
