Fundraiser/Party to Benefit World Cup



A fundraiser and party to benefit the 2004 World Cup Competition is scheduled for 5-9 p.m. July 11 at Carl Meyers Riding Apparel store in Lexington, Ky. The gala will feature both a live auction and a silent auction. The International Saddle Seat World Cup Competition is slated Oct. 6-9 in conjunction with the Kentucky Fall Classic Horse Show in Lexington, Ky. The World Cup alternates each between hosting countries the United States and South Africa. This year the World Cup will be held stateside at the Kentucky Horse Park. Some of the items to be sold in the live auction are a one-week stay in a vacation townhouse in Deer Valley, Utah (with four one-day lift ticket vouchers at the ski resort), a Shively MMX Saddle (22 inch, buyer may choose the size), a four-day weekend at Carl Meyers apartment in New York City’s Upper West Side, near the LIncoln Center, a full-color ad in The Saddle Horse Report or Horse World, a one-week stay in a vacation condo at Sandstone Creek Club in Vail, Colo. Some of the items in the silent auction include a Protege Horse Hair square braid and silver bracelet, a horse tray and four iced tea and four crystal tumbers engraved with the U.S. Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup 2004, a gift certificate for a one-night stay in the Presidential Suite at the newly renovated The Campbell House in Lexington, Ky., a pearl and sterling necklace and bracelet set, a pewter goblet and plate from Douwe Blumberg Studios.
