First Night Of Kohler Sale of The Future V

Kohler's Sale of the Future V began Friday, May 21, in Tattersalls Sales Arena in Lexington, Ky. with a strong group of well bred prospects entertaining the crowd. Twenty nine horses went through the sale and all twenty nine went to new owners with an average sales price of $17,117 and a total sales price of $496,400. With forty more horses to sell in tomorrow's session, the Kohler sales team is well on their way to another million dollar sale.

Richard Boule made the winning bid on HVK Man of Distinction for Vicki Bennett of Heath, TX. Man of Distinction topped the sale with a $160,000 sales price. Another outstanding horse in the sale, HVK Port Rush, brought $85,000 with Holly Johnson of Tara Farm making the winning bid. Man of Distinction was the 2003 Ladies Park Saddle Gelding Grand National Champion and Port Rush was the 2002 World Champion Four-Year-Old Park Saddle Horse.

Outstanding broodmares, young prospects, and proven show horses were among the stock in the sale. Herbert Kohler began the sale by saying a few words to the crowd, speaking of his vision when he began his breeding program with Vigilmarch and continuing on to talk of Noble Flaire. Many of the horses in the sale featured that "magical" lineage on both sides of their pedigree.
