FASH Spring Horse Show Announces Judge Change



Due to circumstances beyond its control, FASH Spring Horse Show announces the following changes to this year’s judging panel. Randall Cates will not be able to officiate. Barbe Smith of New Orleans, LA will now join Michael Richardson of Flemington, NJ and Matthew Roberts of Cave Creek, AZ. The MOS judging system will be utilized for the Saddlebred, Saddle Seat Equitation, Hackney, Harness Pony and Exhibition divisions. Matthew Roberts will judge the Morgan division. The dates of the show are May 7-10, 2015 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minn. The show is USEF approved for Saddlebreds, Morgans and Hackney Ponies. Exhibitors and trainers have voted FASH Tri-State’s Horse Show of the Year for the last eight years.

The theme this year is "The Year of The Trainer", with $3,000 in cash awards being offered as well as several Trainer Lottery prizes. FASH once again features the UPHA Classics Saddlebred and Hackney Pony classes, along with several $250 and $500 Jackpots. Several equitation classes have been added including the UPHA Adult Challenge Cup, the USEF Saddle Seat Adult Medal and Trainer’s Equitation Challenge, which benefits both the Saddlebred Rescue and MN Hooved Animal Rescue. Again this year, the Open Equitation Prospect, Any Breed class will be offered.

Known for their hospitality, daily parties and activities, the all-volunteer show committee is excited to announce the youth event “Ask The Experts” clinic on Saturday afternoon between sessions. Topics to be covered include: USEF High School Equestrian Athlete Program, USEF Saddle Seat World Cup Team and USEF Young Riders Saddle Seat Team. The panel of experts for 2015 include: Colleen Wick, Scott and Carol Matton, and Ranae Van Zomeren along with several guest speakers. Youth, trainers and parents are all encouraged to attend.
