T.H.E. Farm Hosts Memorial to "Doc" and Pat Orcutt

To honor the memory of two of the northeast equine community's most treasured members, Dr. Robert Orcutt, DVM and Pat (Tataronis) Orcutt, T.H.E. Farm in Tewksbury, Massachusetts will host a "Doc and Pat Orcutt Commemorative Event" on Sunday, November 1, 2009.

Beginning at 11 a.m., the event will highlight the equine breeds and disciplines that most appealed to the Orcutt family, who has raised and shown Morgan horses from Burkland Farm in Newbury, Massachusetts, for several decades. There will be ongoing demonstrations of Morgan, Arabian, Saddlebred, and Hackney horses in the schooling ring, carriage rides on neighboring conservation land, and self-guided tours of the barn which is home to T.H.E. Farm's therapeutic riding program.

During a special presentation, Dr. Orcutt's children, equine veterinarians Dr. Helen Noble, and Dr. Robert S. Orcutt, will discuss a plan for a permanent memorial. This commemorative event "honors the lives, values and interests of Doc and Pat and how their work impacts the future of T.H.E. Farm."

In addition to the demonstrations and carriage rides, there will be musical entertainment and food served in the barn. All are welcome to attend and share in this special tribute to the legacy of these two renowned New England professional horse people. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted to help establish the memorial to Doc and Pat.
