Famesgate Stables Opens Training and Lesson Facility in Scenic Charlottesville, Virginia Area

The Sterba Family is pleased to announce the opening of Famesgate Stables in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley just east of Charlottesville, VA.

Located just off I-64, one hour west of Richmond and 2.5 hours south of Washington DC, Famesgate Stables, will be under the direction of Katy Sterba, and will provide training, sales, and lessons. Specializing in American Saddlebreds, Katy will bring expertise gained from working as an Assistant Trainer at Mercer Springs Farm, Grey Ridge Farm and Stachowski Farm. During this time Katy was fortunate to learn from notable trainers including Smith and Alexandra Lilly, Bret and Susi Day, as well as Jim Stachowski and TJ Santaferra.

The farm includes 24 matted stalls, lighted indoor arena with bullpen, large outdoor arena, and paddock space for turnout horses. We will primarily focus on the training, purchase and sale of show horses but will also offer lessons tailored to rider needs and skill level.
