Equine Species Working Group

The Equine Species Working Group (ESWG) would like to announce the release of their new Web site www.equinespeciesworkinggroup.com. The information was previously housed on the American Horse Council Web site, and includes important information on what the ESWG is, who it is made up of, previous press releases on the National Animal Identification System (NAIS), frequently asked questions and more.
The ESWG is the designated United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) working group for horses on the issue of the NAIS. It is the working group’s responsibility to review and evaluate the NAIS and the possible participation of the horse industry in the program, as well as developing recommendations for a national equine identification plan that is in the best interest of, and protects the rights of, horse owners and breeders.
