Equine Death - WC Road Pony, CH Albert Kaponey

On January 20, 2017, WC Road Pony, CH Albert Kaponey passed away in his sleep after a short illness. He had been owned by Kevin Berman and Ada Perwien since 2006. Kevin and Albert started their show career with wins at hometown horse show Pin Oak as well as Big D, Tanbark, and TASHA in their first year together.

In 2007 Kevin and Albert were Reserve World Champions in the Junior Exhibitor Road Pony 13 & Under and reserve in the AHHA Youth Medallion National Championship Road Pony 13 & Under. But in 2008 they won the Junior Exhibitor Road Pony 14-17 Championship at the World Championship Horse Show and went on to win the AHHS Youth Medallion National Championship Road Pony 14-17 as well. They became a fixture at the horse shows in Texas as well as being contenders at the biggest shows around the country.

When Kevin went to college, mom Elly Berman stepped into the cart to fill in. He was expertly trained by Sandra Currier and lovingly cared for by everyone at Bluebonnet Farm. Albert was a part of their family and will be greatly missed by the Perwiens and Bermans as well as their Texas horse show family.
