Equine Death - UVM Valcour

Chris and Rob McDermott’s UVM Valcour was euthanized on Thursday, April 6, 2007, at approximately 11 a.m., due to the severity of a fracture of his front left leg that was injured while playing with his brother, UVM Fenway in the paddock, just like they played every day.

Through the generosity of MSPCA-Nevins Farm and Roger Lauze, the ambulatory vehicles and Chris Cassenti were driven to New York to be with the McDermotts, and to bring “Valley” to the crematory facility in Dover, N.H.  Valcour’s ashes will be placed in an urn located at the base of the historical Morgan statue at the UVM Morgan Horse Farm.

In Valcour’s memory and in sympathy to all that loved this great horse, donations are asked to be made to: MSPCA-Nevins Farm and given to the Chrislar staff for collection.
