Dorothy Emma “Dodie” Smith Passes - funeral arrangements Friday

, Kentucky ­– Dorothy Emma “Dodie” Rule Smith, 84, of Mercer Springs Farm in Princeton, West Virginia, died Tuesday, September 20 at her residence.

 

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Friday, September 23 at the Sacred Heart Christian Church in Princeton.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton

 

Dorothy Emma “Dodie” Rule Smith is the mother of American Saddlebred Horse Association board member Sandra Lilly and Dr. Clare Seagren, who is active in the Saddlebred community, a member of the ASHA Equine Welfare committee, as well as being a renowned veterinarian and equine acupuncturist. Smith is also the grandmother of Saddlebred trainer Smith Lilly of Mercer Springs Farm and horse show announcer Wyatt Lilly. 

 

Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton this evening (Thursday) from 6-8 p.m. where a Christian wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; 507 Harrison Street; Princeton, WV 24740 or to the Chuck Mathena Foundation; PO Box 5664; Princeton, WV 24740.

 

The family may be contacted at the residence of her daughter, Sandra Lilly, on Eads Mill Road in Princeton
