Dedications Announced For YIR

With work underway on the 2003 Year In Review book, Executive Editor Bob Funkhouser announced the three dedications for the annual hardback edition which covers the history of the show horse industry.

Callaway’s Will Gillen, one of the all-time greats of the equitation division, will be honored as 2003 was his last year of showing with Alexandra Flynn. This year’s owner dedication will be Nancy Leigh Fisher who rode Callaway’s Forecaster to the Five-Gaited World’s Grand Championship and has spent a lifetime in the industry. Melissa Moore will be honored as the professional dedication. She has not only had an incredible stretch of world and national champions, she has also worked tirelessly to run and promote the Bluegrass Futurity program in an effort to stimulate the breeding industry.

“Christy [Parsons], David [Howard], and I looked at this year’s list of possible honorees closely and thought this group best represented the types of dedications we were looking for,” said Funkhouser. “It wasn’t a single class or even a single season of success that brought this group to the forefront, all three have excelled over a period of time.”
