Dates Set for First North Carolina State Charity Classic



The state of North Carolina has long been recognized as an important part of the Southeast horse show circuit, with numerous horse shows and competition considered to be some of the best in the country.

This year marks the beginning of another soon-to-be North Carolina horse show tradition. The first North Carolina State Charity Classic will be held Sept. 11-12, 2009 at the Governor James B. Hunt Horse Complex. It is sponsored by the Raleigh Host Lions Club.

The schedule is set to kick off Friday evening at 6:30 for the first session. The Walking Horse Versatility class has been moved from the North Carolina State Championship Charity and will begin Saturday morning’s session at 8 a.m.

Academy classes will be offered Saturday afternoon at 1 pm and the show will conclude with the championship session Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Prize money is not offered but winners will receive ribbons and trophies.
