Chrislar Farm Sponsors Employee in Marathon “Train To End Stroke” Program

Vicky McKillop

What does Chrislar Farm, “Stable Of Stars” have to do with a marathon scheduled for June 29, 2008 in Kona, Hawaii? The connection lies with one of the staff at the farm.  Victoria (Vicky) McKillop has entered and is in training to participate in a half-marathon (13.1 miles) to benefit the American Stoke Association’s “Train to End Stroke” Program.  The Kona course follows the same route as the Ironman marathon race. It was clear to Vicky how important this association was as she witnessed the Cassentis’ concern for the legendary Morgan trainer, Judy Whitney Harris, who suffered a stroke last June.  Chris and Larry Cassenti are 100% behind this effort and encourage anyone and everyone to “sponsor” Vicky as well.

Vicky has many interests in addition to her passion for horses. She has always been athletic; track, soccer, dance, gymnastics as well as drama and chorus … why she was even involved in the horse-related scenes as a “wrangler” in the filming of Pink Panther II this summer!!!

The goal of the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, is to reduce disability and death from stroke through research, education and advocacy. Funds raised from this effort will go toward critical stoke research and the promotion of awareness of stroke warning signs. About 700,000 Americans suffer a new or recurrent stroke every year, many cases resulting in death --- more than 60 percent of stroke victims are women.

Please help Vicky reach her fundraising goal of $4,900! You can visit her web site at www.ttes.kona2008.kintera.org/mckillop.  Or, stop by and see her at Chrislar Farm!  Vicky is truly a “STAR”!
