Obituary--William Charles, "Chuck" Brandt, Jr.



William Charles, "Chuck" Brandt, Jr., 68, Zionsville, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2003. He will be deeply missed by family and friends for his love, generosity, boundless energy and his guidance and leadership. He was a 1957 graduate of Purdue University. Chuck was a member and past trustee of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, a member of Oriental Lodge 500 F & AM, Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite, where he served as Thrice Potent Master, a trustee and was appointed a 33rd degree mason; the Murat Shrine Chairman of the Board of the Masonic Children's Learning Center, a member of Indianapolis Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow, Kentucky Colonel, a Sagamore of the Wabash, The John Purdue Club, Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at Purdue, Gyro Club, Board of Directors of Propylaeum Historic Foundation and an Eagle Scout. Chuck was the past president and chairman of the board for Charles C. Brandt Construction Co. Inc. and owner of Heritage Restoration.

The Brandt family are longtime owners and supporters of the Morgan horse. They have owned and shown numerous show ring champions including world champion Arrow's Orion shown by daughter Kris Brandt who was also AMHA Youth Of The Year. The Brandts have been involved for many years in the Indiana Morgan Horse Club and the Indiana Morgan Classic Horse Show.

Friends may visit at 1 p.m. Friday, September 12 in St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where a celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. In addition to his wife of 44 years, JoAnn Riddell Brandt; he is survived by daughters, Deborah (Craig) Beuhler, Lisa Brandt and Kristen Brandt; a brother, David S. (Patricia) Brandt; and sister-in-law, Linda Jones Brandt. Mr. Brandt was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Nellie I. (Sielken) Brandt; a brother, Stephen R. Brandt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scottish Rite Cathedral Foundation -or- The Masonic Children's Learning Center, both at 650 N.
