CH Wild Eyed And Wicked and CH Meet Prince Charming Euthanized

Four-time World’s Champion and two-time Five-Gaited World’s Grand Champion CH Wild Eyed And Wicked and CH Meet Prince Charming were humanely euthanized this morning. Their conditions apparently deteriorated overnight and the decision was made to put them down. “The information gathered last night showed that there was significant compromise to the blood flow in the right foot of Wicked. The decision was made that the humane thing to do was to euthanize him,” said veterinarian Carol McLeod.

CH Wild Eyed And Wicked and CH Meet Prince Charming were among the five horses apparently attacked and injected with a still undetermined acid-like substance at Dave and Dena Lopez’s Double D Ranch in Versailles, Ky., June 28. Tests showed significant deterioration in the right front legs of the two horses, according to McLeod. The horses suffered swelling in their legs up to their shoulders after an examination on June 30.

Kiss Me, one of the other horses injured, was also in pain Thursday morning McLeod reported, but the remaining horses, Cats Don’t Dance and Sassational, were in better shape.

Kentucky State Police have been investigating the case. They are considering charges of third degree burglary, first degree-criminal mischief and cruelty to animals, two felonies and a misdemeanor, but no arrests have been made thus far.

A reward of at least $100,000 is being offered by USA Equestrian, Inc., for information leading to the apprehension and successful prosecution of those individuals responsible for the apparent attacks on five horses.
