Cedar View Stables Open For Business
Thursday, January 8, 2004
Sharon Backer is pleased to announce the opening of Cedar View Stables at Glenn Acres Farm of Boone County, Inc. Glenn Acres Farm features a nine-stall brick barn built in the 1940s, as well as an indoor work area, an outdoor ring and an outdoor round-pen. A small track, which encircles a pond, along with numerous trails makes for a picturesque facility, located just east of Columbia, Mo.
Glenn Acres Farm has long been associated with American Saddlebreds, being the farm where R.P. Glenn trained such horses as Stonewall’s Peep O’ Dawn and Princess Julia.
Sharon Backer is no stranger to the American Saddlebred industry. She received a bachelor of science degree in Equestrian Science from William Woods University and has worked for several trainers in the industry including Mark and Kelly Hulse, Jimmy Miller, Donna Moore, R.S. and Ruth Palmer, Dale and Glenda Pugh, Dr. Alan R. Raun and the late Paul Priebe. In addition, her name has been associated with horses and ponies such as World’s Champion Jane Doe, World’s Champion Jaunty Janette, World’s Champion Heartland Masterpiece and Again, Again en route to their numerous World and National Championships.
Cedar View Stables is currently accepting horses for training and is offering riding lessons in both saddle seat and western. Everyone is welcome to visit. For more information, please contact Sharon Backer at (573) 642-7916.
