Candids of the Week




? One of the stars of the 78th edition of Rock Creek was Wendy Bruwer’s Ladies Five-Gaited Champion Ridgefield’s Wild Card. By week’s end Wild Card was sold to Gayle Lampe.

Paul Otto celebrates with trainer Heather Boodey. Paul recently purchased Our Skyscraper from Kalarama Farm and Blowing Rock Charity was their first show out together. They brought the blue home from the Limit Horse Three-Gaited Show Pleasure class.

Birthday girl Helen Robertson (l), along with husband Jimmy, put Dr. Nita Isgrigg and Limited Edition in the winner’s circle as Rock Creek’s Hackney Pleasure Driving Grand Champions.

World’s Grand Champion Macadamia was Rock Creek’s Ladies Amateur Three-Gaited Grand Champion and qualifying winner with Mary Jane Kirkpatrick Glasscock.

Charlotte Smith and Lizzie Ruffner before their Championship and Reserve Championship rides in the Equitation Senior Saddle Seat Championship on Saturday evening, both ride under the direction of Nikki Rae Woodworth for KGA Morgans at Connecticut Morgan.


Bill Marple rode Bourbon Sky to the Bluegrass Select Series Amateur/Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited blue at Rock Creek. Five nice, competitive Select Series classes were held at Rock Creek.



Carolyn, Harry, Jessica, & Jim Sebring in front of the Sebring Stables banner on Saturday evening at Connecticut Morgan.

Smith Lilly guided Nason Bastarache and HS So Bad into the ring for the Junior/Novice Three-Gaited Park class at Blowing Rock Charity. They returned to the barn with the red ribbon for owner Sarver Equine LLC.


Sofia Rashid had a very successful Blowing Rock Charity. Here she is pictured with her tricolor from the Equitation Championship, accompanied by trainers Jimmy and Georgia Morrison.  She was also the winner in the 13 and Under Equitation class.



Erin Kelley and Miyake after their championship ride in a competitive Morgan Classic Pleasure Saddle Ladies Championship at Connecticut Morgan.

Clark Clouse and Harold Denton teamed up to win several Rock Creek classes, including the Five-Gaited Championship with Bodidly, the amateur gaited qualifier with Mark Of Perfection and the Junior Five-Gaited Stake with Adam Levine.

Merrill Murray and Steve Wheeler chatted it up in the line up of Rock Creek’s Junior Five-Gaited Stake.
