The Canadian Road Horse Association is delighted to announce our new partnership with The Standardbred Journal for this year’s upcoming 2023 Royal Winter Fair.
Registered Standardbred horses have been shown as road horses or Roadsters, at The Royal Winter Fair since it began in 1922 and continue to be considered one of the most exciting divisions.
The Standardbred Journal was founded in March of 2021 to further the Standardbred road horse and Roadster Show Horse Industry. The magazine is part of a non-profit organization with the intention of infusing funds to encourage horsemanship, education, and added-money purses to Roadster shows.
In four quarterly issues, you will learn more about the great Standardbred sires, veterinary and farrier care, farm and training features, educational opportunities, show results and auction results. In addition, they also host free informational podcasts, twice a month. They can be found on Spotify as well as a call-in telephone line.
The Standardbred Journal will now be the title sponsor of the $7500.00 Standardbred Journal Roadster Classic to Bike, previously known as the Green Roadster Classic, and will be held in Toronto on November 4th, 2023.
Each entrant will also receive a personalized leather halter.
This class is designated for any Standardbred registered with either Standardbred Canada or the USTA. They must be in their first or second consecutive year of showing or 5 years of age and younger and the owner, driver and trainer must be a member of the CRHA. Each horse must be entered in the 2023 Royal Winter Fair and have previously competed in a harness class at a minimum of 2 horse shows/fairs in advance of the Royal Winter Fair.
We encourage all Road Horse enthusiasts and exhibitors, north and south of the border, to help make this the must-attend show for any registered Standardbreds starting out their show ring careers.
