Canadian Road Horse Association Revs Up for Royal Agricultural Winter Fair



 

CAMBRIDGE, ON - The Canadian Road Horse Association is revving up for the 2005 Royal Winter Fair in Toronto with a number of exciting classes and activities planned.

 

2005 Hall of Fame Induction - following the Green Roadster Classic on Saturday, November 5, the CRHA is hosting a Wine and Cheese celebration where our 2005 Hall of Fame inductee, Harley Allison, will be honored for his accomplishments and contributions to the Association and the road horse.  Please be sure to join us.

 

OHHA Green Roadster Classic to Bike - nominations are now closed and posted on the CRHA website.  The CRHA is very pleased to announce that there are an outstanding 22 horses nominated again this year for this very prestigious class of which 19 have been entered at the Royal.  There will be two qualifying classes held in the afternoon of Friday, November 4.  The top 10 horses will then compete in the Classic final on Saturday night. This class is very generously sponsored by the Ontario Harness Horsemen's Association.  Once again, we thank them for their continuing support and look forward to an exciting class at this fall's Royal Winter Fair!  Following the Classic final, the CRHA is hosting a Wine and Cheese celebration where our 2005 Hall of Fame inductee, Harley Allison, will be honored.  All OHHA members and supporters are also invited to attend.

 

Authentic Southern-Style BBQ Dinner - The CRHA is again hosting a terrific dinner at this year's Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on Monday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. in Aisle E at the Thomas Stables.  All are invited.  Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for children under 10 and will be available from Kathy Galbraith, Joanne Heath, Laurie Palmer, Helen Thomas, or by contacting Linda Rainey.  Get yours early!!!  Last year's dinner was a huge success with a fantastic meal, and tickets are sure to be at a premium for this year's repeat performance!  Please bring your own chair.  For more info ... 

 

CRHA Directors Meeting - All directors please note that there will be a meeting held at the Royal in the afternoon on Saturday, November 5 following the Under Wagon class.  Location tbd.

 

OHA Annual Aisle Party - The Ontario Hackney Society would like to invite everyone to their Annual Aisle Party.  It will be held on Friday, November 11 in front on Larry Ella's tack room beginning at 9:00 p.m. following the final Hackney class of the evening.

 

Royal Agricultural Winter Fair - takes place in Toronto from November 4 to 13.  Show results will be posted on their website - www.royalfair.org.  Accepted entries and results can also be viewed at Equestrian Management Group which administers the Horse Show.  The schedule for this year's Royal has changed significantly whereby road horses will be competing during the first part of the show.  The schedule is:  Green Class Qualifier - Fri., Nov. 4 - Aft; Green Class Final - Sat., Nov. 5 - Eve; Ladies Bike - Fri., Nov. 4 - Eve; Under Wagon - Sat., Nov. 5 - Morn; Over Wagon - Sat., Nov. 5 - Aft.; Over Bike - Mon., Nov. 7 - Eve; Under Bike - Tues., Nov. 8 - Morn; Wagon Stake - Tues., Nov. 8 - Eve; Bike Stake - Wed., Nov. 9 - Eve.; Line Classes - Tues., Nov. 8 - Noon.  Best of luck to all at the 2005 Royal!!!
