Callaway's Pretty Penny Passes Away

The multi-titled World's Champion CH Callaway's Pretty Penny passed away the morning of Saturday, October 27, at Hollow Haven Farm. Owned by the Brown-Anderson Farms and shown for her brilliant career by Nancy Anderson, Pretty Penny was born May 10, 1997. By Callaway's Full Power, she was out of Callaway's Money Penny, by CH Will Shriver. She had been undefeated in four classes just this year leading up to her scheduled retirement at the World's Championship Horse Show.

Her final Louisville class came in 2010, when she and Nancy were the Country Pleasure Driving World's Champion of Champions for the unprecedented eighth consecutive year. The "Queens of Country" were perhaps the greatest country pleasure driving team we will ever see, and one of the winningest combinations in show ring history. It will be hard to match the Louisville record of Callaway's Pretty Penny. In 18 appearances on the green shavings in Country Pleasure Driving, she was 16 times a World's Champion and twice a Reserve World's Champion.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to trainers Andy and Lynda Freseth, Nancy Anderson, and the entire Anderson and Hollow Haven families. A complete tribute to this great mare will follow in Saddle Horse Report.
