Breeders REPORT – New on SHR Online
Wednesday, August 1, 2007
With the launch of our new web site, Saddle Horse Report Online is pleased to bring our subscribers new and valued services that are exclusive to SHR Online. The new Breeders REPORT is just one of those services.
The Breeders’ REPORT ranks stallions by their offspring’s show ring performances in all the same categories that are in our High Point REPORT. You can also see how the stallions stack up overall and in major divisions. For example, you can see who has sired the best five-gaited horses, three-gaited, etc.
We’ve been working throughout the winter to gather sire and dam information on every American Saddlebred and Hackney in the 2007 High Point REPORT. If we do not have the sire and dam entered for a horse, its name appears in our show results in red.
One thing to keep in mind, the pedigree information is not entered into our database until the horse is in the current year's show results. It may be several days after a show's results are posted before the name changes from red to black.
If your horse’s name appears in red, and it's more than 2 weeks after a show has been entered on our site, please call our office with its papers in hand so that we can make sure your horse’s pedigree information is up to date. Ask for Sandra Barnes at 931-684-8123 or email her at [email protected].
We are working with the AMHA to gather the data for Morgan horses as well. That work is still in progress and won’t be available until later this summer. We will make an announcement when that information is available; so don’t be concerned if your Morgan’s name is in red at the present time.
For our information to be complete and accurate, it is important that horses are shown according to their correct registered name. If your horse is not receiving points correctly in the High Point REPORT or the Breeders REPORT due to being shown under a different name, call our office to give us the details.
This is just the beginning of the Breeders REPORT. As we continue to gather more information, we will be adding progeny searches to next year’s www.SaddleHorseReport.com. We want to help you make better breeding decisions, and we’re excited about what we still have in store.
