Bourbon County Fair Updates

The 2013 Bourbon County Fair Horse Show, featuring Saddlebreds, Hackneys and Roadsters will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013.  The show is held at the historic Bourbon County Fairgrounds on Legion Drive in Paris, KY.  The judge for this year will be Darrell Case, of Simpsonville, KY.

Newly added to the show is the Saddle and Bridle Hunter Classic which will provide riders with a chance to qualify for the Saddle and Bridle Hunter Seat Finals held in St. Louis. This year’s show will also feature several qualifying classes for the KY State Fair World’s Championship, including Junior Park and Junior Park Pleasure classes, along with a list of other classes.  The Junior Road Pony class will serve as a qualifier for the South Central Hackney Association as well.  Memorial trophies will be awarded in the Fine Harness class, in remembrance of Bob Davis and the Five-Gaited Stake in honor of Joe and Ernie Allen.

Additional prize money has been added for 2013.  Stabling is free and based on availability. Hospitality will be provided for exhibitors.

For information on the Bourbon County Fair Horse Show or for a copy of the schedule, contact Lori Nelson, at 859-457-0841 or [email protected].

The show will not be held during the fair to provide room for parking and traffic flow during the horse show.  The schedule will also be posted at www.bourboncountyfairky.com.

This show is a member of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows, Inc, South Central Hackney Association and Central Kentucky Horse Show Association.
