Big D Horse Show Hosts Fish Fry And Auction

Big D Charity Horse Show will host the seventh annual Auction and Fish Fry & Barn party Feb. 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Milligan Stables, 3116 E. Parker Road, Plano, TX 75074. Last year, guests at the event were treated to free fish and fixin’s while browsing and bidding on over 200 auction items. Live music will be provided by Frog City Blues band for family friendly entertainment. It will be free to the public.

The Big D Charity Horse Show is proud to announce Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children will be its recipient as its charity benefit for 2010. Last year attendees spent well over $30,000 in support of Big D Charity Horse Show and the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. Texas Scottish Rite Hospital is one of the nation's leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions, certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, like dyslexia. Today, the hospital provides ongoing care for more than 14,000 children each year. There is no charge for treatment at the hospital and admission is open to Texas children from birth to 18 years of age.

Allison Simpson Lisman, president of the Big D Charity Horse Show said, "In the past, Big D Charity Horse Show has been able to donate more than $405,000 to area charities and we are hoping to do the same this year for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, as well as put on a horse show in May that will make both riders and sponsors proud. The auction is free to the public and families are welcome to attend."

The Big D Charity Horse Show will be held April 30 through May 2, 2010 at Las Colinas Equestrian Center, Irving, Texas. The horse show will offer events for American Saddlebred and Tennessee Walking Horse breeds. Participants from many states are expected to attend.
