Bib Jones Loses Battle With Cancer

Bib Jones, longtime trainer and breeding manager for MacDonald Farm in Georgia, lost her valiant battle with lung cancer on Tuesday, June 6.

A highly-regarded professional horsewoman, Jones was born January 25, 1948 in Piney Flats, Tennessee.  She graduated from Mary Hughes High School in 1966 and from East Tennessee State University in 1970.  She is survived by her mother, Pauline Jones of Piney Flats; her brother, Robert Lee Jones of Washington, D.C.; and her husband Eduardo Garcia-Lopez and son David Robert Jones, both of Jefferson, Georgia.

A simple graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 10, at 2:00 p.m. EDT, at the Poplar Ridge Cemetery in Piney Flats.  The family will be receiving visitors on Friday evening, June 9, at 934 Hunting Hill Road in Piney Flats, Tennessee 37686.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the David Robert Jones Irrevocable Trust, 1266 New Hampshire Avenue N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036.
