Asheville Lions Club Adds Hunter Classes/Academy Division

Jackie Rice, manager of the Asheville Lions Club Horse Show, just announced that in addition to bringing back the Academy division at the May 18-21 show they are also adding an ASB Hunter Country Pleasure qualifier and championship to the schedule. The quality and numbers of the Hunter Country Pleasure division have steadily grown and there have been several requests to add the division to the highly competitive show.

Held as a benefit for the Lions Club, the show is held at the exhibitor friendly Western North Carolina Agricultural Center, Fletcher, NC. Billy Greenwell, James Nichols and Jay Wood will officiate the 2016 edition, the show’s 33^rd year. Wood will also judge the Academy division. UPHA Announces Changes to UPHA Challenge Cup Equitation Finals
The United Professional Horsemen’s Association, Inc. (UPHA) is pleased to announce some exciting changes for the UPHA Challenge Cup Finals. The UPHA Challenge Cup program was established in 1972 to promote the sport of horsemanship and saddle seat equitation across multiple breeds; qualifying classes are held on the local level with 13 national finals at the year's end.
