Owners and trainers of horses participating at U.S. Equestrian Federation recognized competitions rated “A” in all Saddlebred sections must be current members in good standing with the American Saddlebred Horse Association, Inc.

Who needs to be a member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association?

Recorded owners of horses participating in any Saddlebred division at “A” rated shows.

Trainers of horses participating in any Saddlebred division at “A” rated shows.

Lessees are considered owners in connection with this membership requirement.

At what shows is membership required?

Only at horse shows rated “A” in all Saddlebred sections (Three-Gaited, Five-Gaited, Fine Harness, & Pleasure) are subject to the membership requirement.

What if more than one person owns the horse or the horse is owned by a farm or business?

Only one person listed on the certificate of registration as the recorded owner of the horse must be an active member of ASHA.

Only one person recorded with ASHA as an authorized agent for a farm or business must be an active member of ASHA.

How do I prove my membership?

You should make copies of your ASHA membership card and keep it with copies of your USEF membership card to submit to the horse show office.

At the discretion of the competition, membership may be confirmed electronically with the ASHA office.

What if I forgot my card?

You may complete a membership affidavit in the horse show office.

What if I am not a member?

You may complete a membership application in the horse show office and become a member.

What if I do not wish to join ASHA?

You may pay a non-member fee of $20 in the horse show office.
