ASHA Foundation Presents Academy Awards

The American Saddlebred Horse Association Foundation Academy Award Program was established to promote the development and appreciation of horsemanship and sportsmanship of beginning saddle seat riders. Instructors and advisors are encouraged to promote academy classes in their area. Points are earned in academy riding classes three ways. One point is earned for participation; one point is earned for placing second through eighth; and two points are earned by placing first. A bronze medal is awarded for earning 15 points in the first year of competition. A silver medal is awarded for 15 points in the second consecutive year and gold for 15 points in the third year. This year the ASHA Foundation awarded over 200 medals to academy riders.
