ASHA Convention Guest Speakers



Lexington, Kentucky - The 2011 American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) Annual Convention and Youth Conference, scheduled to take place Thursday, February 17, through Saturday, February 19, at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa, will feature several notable guest speakers.

The Convention will include several Open Forums, where guest speakers will be in attendance to address a various range of topics.

In the first Open Forum on Friday, at 10 AM, Darryl Leifheit will speak to attendees about American Saddlebreds in Combined Driving Events. Later that afternoon, at the 1:30 Open Forum, Ed Squires from the University of Kentucky, will speak about Equine Internships and Career Opportunities.

The 3 PM Open Forum on Friday will feature Dr. Joseph B. Yocum from MediVet-America, who will speak about the application of stem cell research in the equine industry. Next, at Friday's 4:30 PM Open Forum, Dr. Ernest Bailey, Professor of Veterinary Science at the University of Kentucky, will provide updated findings in the ongoing research of Lordosis.

At the Members Luncheon, scheduled for 12 pm on Saturday, United States Equestrian Federation CEO John Long will address attendees to speak about the World Equestrian Games' impact on Kentucky and the equine industry in the United States. In the final Open Forum, scheduled for Saturday at 1:15 PM, Walt Robertson Jr. will address attendees on the subject of Equine Law.
