American Saddlebred Museum Announces Special Events During Lexington Junior League Charity Horse Show



The Lexington Junior League Charity Horse Show is always an exciting time for the American Saddlebred Museum. To help celebrate the 2019 show, the Museum has a week of special events planned to celebrate and educate the public about the American Saddlebred. If you can’t make it to one of these great events, be sure to stop by our Gift Shop Pop-up at the Rolex Stadium during the show.  

Tuesday, July 9, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.  
Smith Lilly Lecture and Book Signing 
American Saddlebred Museum 

We are honored to have Smith Lilly, a renowned World Champion trainer and President of the United Professional Horsemen’s Association speak at the Museum. Lilly will speak about the UPHA, our industry and his book, Saddle Seat Horsemanship.  This is a free event, box lunches are available for $12, call 859-259-2746 to reserve.

Open House
American Saddlebred Museum

Everyone is invited to drop-by the Museum for a free reception after the last class of the morning session. Enjoy a light lunch with wine and take a few minutes to mingle with friends, see your favorite items from the collection, and shop in the renovated gift shop.

Lunchtime Lecture Series: Captain Rakes and Police Horse Oliver 
International Museum of the Horse

Continuing the partnership with the International Museum of the Horse, this Lunchtime Lecture features the Kentucky Horse Park’s own Mounted Police horse Oliver and his police partner, Captain Lisa Rakes. Captain Rakes will speak about the importance of Mounted Police horses and how Oliver was selected as the 2019 BreyerFest Celebration Horse.

Susan Williamson is a mystery author who puts Saddlebreds at the center of the story! She will be signing copies of her books “Dead on the Trial” and “Desert Tail” at the Museum Pop-up in the Gaited Gallery.

Summer at Spindletop 
Spindletop Hall 3414 Iron Works Parkway

Join us at historic Spindletop Hall for a garden inspired morning of fashion, shopping and fun. This fundraiser includes brunch, open bar, a fashion show featuring Glasscock Women’s Apparel with special guest designer Lucian Matis and Crittenden Rawlings, skin care and cosmetics by Jeffery Fetzer, jewelry by Barry Brinker, hats by Jordan Skeen, and a silent auction.  Tickets are available at asbmuseum.org
