Art Auction Consignments Now Being Accepted

Now is the time to consign a work of art, an equine antique or rare book to the Museum’s 2007 Art Auction.  If you have been watching the event grow and have considered submitting an item for approval, this is the year to do so!  After the 2005 and 2006 history-making auctions, interest in this year’s auction has dramatically increased.

This is a consignment auction – the Museum is not asking you to donate your work, but rather to consign and sell it.  If you have an item you want considered for auction, contact the Museum and request a Consignment Form.  The Form must be completed and returned, along with an informal snapshot of the item, no later than March 31, 2007.  If your item is selected to be included in the auction, you will be notified the first week in April 2007.

The auction is open to artwork in any medium as well as rare books, unique antiques and historic artifacts.  A quality four-color catalogue will be printed and distributed and the auction will be marketed in the industry’s trade publications. This auction is fast becoming the preferred venue where artists, collectors and enthusiasts go to purchase and sell Saddlebred artwork in all media.  The response to the first three auctions confirms there is broad interest in such an event.

This year’s auction will take place during the Lexington Junior League Horse Show on Saturday July 14, 2007 at 12:00 Noon in the Red Mile’s Round Barn.  A Preview Party will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon in advance of the sale.  An online catalog of last year’s auction and sales prices can be viewed at the Museum’s website www.americansaddlebredmuseum.org.  Give Tolley Graves a call at (859) 259-2746 ext. 304 with any questions you may have about this special sales/marketing opportunity.
