Arrangements - Dave Patton





Saddle Horse Report is saddened to learn of the passing of former UPHA President and noted horseman Dave Patton last night (Wednesday, September 9). He died at his home in Wisconsin surrounded by family.

Along with his late wife Sarah, Dave was a friend to all, a leader for the industry and a top horseman. He was best known as the trainer of CH Stonewall’s Crimson & Clover with whom he won the 1986 World’s Champion of Champions Junior Three-Gaited and World’s Champion Junior Three-Gaited 15.2 & Under titles and the year before that the UPHA Classics Grand Championship and the ASHA Three-Year-Old National Futurity.

The daughter of Stonewall’s Main Event and Hide-A-Way’s Saucy Sandy went on to win the 1988 World’s Champion of Champions Ladies Three-Gaited and World’s Champion Ladies Three-Gaited 15.2 & Under honors with Susan Treiber riding.

Arrangements:

For those wishing to pay their respects to UPHA Hall of Fame trainer, Dave Patton - the arrangements are as follows: There will be a visitation at Becker Ritter Funeral Home at 14075 W North Ave, Brookfield, WI 53005 on Wednesday, September 30th from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by service- with lunch to follow.

The family of Dave Patton has made the following VERY IMPORTANT CHANGE to the previously posted announcement about Dave's Memorial service at Becker Ritter Funeral Home. There will NOT be any visitation on Tuesday, September 29th as previously announced. There WILL BE a brief visitation with the family on Wednesday, September 30th from 10 until 11 a.m. and that will be followed by a service - lunch to follow. AGAIN, no visitation for Tuesday, September 29th.
