5th Annual Mid-Atlantic Nutrition Conference Features Talks on New Nutrient Requirements for Horses

Internationally recognized equine researchers will be giving presentations on topics such as energy requirements, software that helps determine nutrient requirements of horses, metabolic conditions associated with carbohydrate feeding, protein and amino acid quality in horse diets, how to use the new requirements to manage horse nutrition, and insights by industry representatives on what the new requirements mean to them.  Karen O’Conner, Olympic 3-day Event Silver Medalist will also be providing a competitor’s viewpoint on the new nutrient requirements and how it may affect the feeding program of her elite athletes.

The equine session, which is part of a larger two-day conference, will be held on
March 29, 2007 at the Holiday Inn Select in Timonium, MD.  Veterinarians, trainers, horse breeders, and horse owners should not miss this opportunity to learn about these exciting new discoveries.  All attendees will receive conference proceedings, lunch, and the opportunity to ask questions of all of our experts.  Registration to attend the conference on March 29th is $65 although attendees are encouraged to attend the full two-day event for $100.

The conference is a regional event hosted by the Maryland Feed Industry Council,
University of Maryland, Pennsylvania State University, University of Delaware, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Rutgers University, West Virginia University, and the American Feed Industry Association
