AMHA Joins Forces With ASHA For Trainers' Equitation Cup



The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) is delighted to welcome the American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA) as a partner in the nationwide Trainers’ Equitation Cup classes!

ASHA and AMHA greatly appreciate the generosity of title sponsors, Becker Bros., Kaye Bowles-Durnell, Dragonsmeade Farm/The Fu Family, and Saddle Horse Report/Horse World.

To qualify for the grand prize drawings (see details below), each trainer must compete in at least one ASHA/AMHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup qualifier. To show in the qualifier, a trainer must be nominated with a fee of at least $100. Trainers may be nominated to show in more than one qualifier. Multiple participation is encouraged! The host horse shows serving as qualifiers for the 2015 ASHA/AMHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup drawing include:

•UPHA Chapter 14, April 15-18, 2015*
•UPHA Chapter V, May 6-9, 2015*
•Madison Classic, May 21-24, 2015
•Rock Creek, June 2-6, 2015
•Midwest Charity, June 16-20, 2015*
•New England Morgan Regional, July 20-15, 2015**
•Blue Ridge Classic, July 21-25, 2015*
•Shelbyville, July 29- August 1, 2015
•Kentucky Fall Classic, September 30- October 3, 2015
•NTASHA-UPHA Fall Classic, October 1-4, 2015
•California Futurity, October 29-31, 2015*

The workout for each qualifier will be posted in the horse show office one hour prior to the start of the session that holds the Trainers’ Equitation class.

 The rules for the class are as follows:

•Each exhibitor may provide their own horse
•Each exhibitor must wear a riding habit to compete
•Each exhibitor must not have competed in an equitation related class for the past 5 years. (ie. adult, pleasure, horsemanship, nor regular Equitation)
•Each exhibitor must draw for a position to enter the arena and be introduced.
•This is a FUN exhibition and is not covered under USEF rules
•The workout WILL NOT INCLUDE RIDING WITHOUT STIRRUPS

Upon nomination, each participating trainer must designate him/herself as showing on behalf of ASHA or AMHA. The winning trainer of each qualifying class will be awarded a one-year membership to ASHA or AMHA, plus three ASHA or AMHA entries into the grand prize drawings, and a tricolor ribbon and trophy. Each participant in each class will be awarded one entry in the ASHA or AMHA drawings at the Super Convention. The trainer with the most nomination funds raised throughout the year will be awarded a lifetime membership to the ASHA. A lifetime membership to AMHA will also be awarded.

Two ASHA drawings will be held during the ASHA luncheon at the Super Convention in Boston. The winner of the first drawing will win a week’s stay in Mexico at the Villa del Oso donated by Kaye Bowles-Durnell. The winner of the second drawing will win a week’s stay at the Crowne Plaza in Louisville, Ky. for the World’s Championship Horse Show, as well as a free golf cart rental.

Two AMHA drawings will also occur at the Super Convention. The first drawing will be for a week’s stay in Key West, donated by Dragsonsmeade Farm/The Fu Family, and the second drawing will be for a week’s stay at the Morgan Grand National Horse Show.

You may nominate a trainer using this form. All nominators must be kept anonymous, and you may pay by check, cash, or credit card. ASHA is a 501(c)3 non-profit, meaning all nominations and sponsorships are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The ASHA/AMHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup classes will benefit American Saddlebred breed promotion and marketing, the Super Convention, and the host show.
