American Saddlebred Museum Receives Grant from the Junior League of Lexington

The American Saddlebred Museum is pleased to receive a Community Education and Research Grant from the Junior League of Lexington. Grant funding will support the purchase of archival supplies to house the Museum’s historic collection of Horse Show Ribbons. This collection includes objects dating from 1903 to present day.  Significant objects include ribbons awarded to great horses including CHWing Commander, CHYorktown, CHLocal Talent  and many others.

Museum Executive Director, Jennifer Foster says: “Proper preservation of the collection is always a priority for the Museum.  We are pleased that the Junior League of Lexington recognizes the importance of preservation, particularly for objects related to the American Saddlebred.” As a textile, proper storage is critical for the long-term preservation of these historic show ribbons. This grant will support and sustain these important pieces of Saddlebred history.
