All American Horse Classic Announcements

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The All American Horse Classic is pleased to announce that it will be offering two classes with ASGN Added Prize Money at its 2008 event September 2-6. Both classes, the Amateur Five Gaited Championship and the Western Country Pleasure Championship, will offer $1800 in ASGN incentives for Grand National eligible entries.

The All American Classic will also host the first UPHA Five Gaited Horsemanship Championship. Any rider who has competed and been judged in a UPHA Horsemanship qualifying class or who has been judged in any one class within the five gaited performance section, open or pleasure, during the qualifying season is eligible to compete. This championship will be held Saturday, September 6. With World Cup Competition in the spotlight again this year, the importance of a venue for five gaited horsemanship riders is more important than ever.

The 2008 All American Horse Classic will offer over $500,000 in awards through the ASR Sweepstakes, the All American Cup, AHHS Limited Breeders Stakes, Indiana ASB Futurities and the Hoosier Hackney Futurities. The best Saddlebred babies in the country will get the festivities rolling on Tuesday evening, September 2, with the All American Weanling Cup. The eagerly anticipated inaugural event of the All American Three Year Old Cup will hold eliminations on Wednesday morning, with the finalists returning for the $170,000 championship purse Friday night, September 5. The lucrative ASR Sweepstakes will debut on Thursday evening, September 4, with the Two Year Old Sweepstakes events, followed by the Four Year Old Sweepstakes on Friday, September 5, concluding with the exciting Three Year Old Sweepstakes on Saturday, September 6. In the spotlight Saturday will be national competition for the UPHA Challenge Cup Championships for Pleasure Equitation and Adult riders. The AHHS Limited Breeders stakes for Hackney weanling horses and ponies take center stage on Thursday, September 4.

The All American Classic will hold its first UPHA Ladies Pink Ribbon Five Gaited Stake on Thursday, September 4. Management is pleased to announce St. Francis Hospitals Health Network of Indiana as a major corporate sponsor and plans to include several of their breast cancer affiliates in the presentation of the Pink Ribbon class. The Classic also plans to designate Saturday’s Show as "St. Francis" Day, to tie in Children’s Day Activities, which includes the stick horse decorating contest and an art contest, with their new family oriented sponsor. Proceeds of the All American Classic benefit Strides To Success, a local equine assisted learning center which works extensively with at risk youth.

Judges for the 2008 All American Classic include Randy Cates, Lewis Eckard and Bill Waller for Saddlebreds, Friesians and Roadsters; Lewis Eckard, Martin Cockriel and Bob Ruxer for the All American Cup;  Lewis Eckard, Neva Van Ess and Lisa Waller for UPHA Challenge Cup Championships; Lisa Waller for equitation; and Pat Kennedy for Hackneys and carriage classes.

Due to limited stabling, a new stall policy will be in effect for 2008, and exhibitors are asked to send checks with their stall reservations to be guaranteed a location at the show. Post entries are accepted subject to stall availability.
