AHHS Marketing and Communications Coordinator



The American Hackney Horse Society is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator.

Job Summary: Design and implement the marketing, communications and promotion activities of the American Hackney Horse Society. Distribute media kits, event information, write articles for various publications describing events, activities and accomplishment of the Hackney breed and industry. Develop sponsorship and ad sales strategies while securing and maintaining sponsorship contacts. Develop, edit and publish content for e-newsletter, print media and website. Represent the Society at shows, events and fundraisers. Will submit monthly time and status reports to the Executive Secretary of the AHHS and the Promotions Committee. Must attend periodic meetings of the AHHS in Lexington, Kentucky or other places.

Hours: Half-time (80 hours per month)

Skills: Must be self-motivated and able to work independently while executing promotions and fundraising campaigns. Excellent communications (written and verbal) and organizational skills are a must. Be able to collaborate with office staff and Promotions Committee members to design and maintain various campaigns. Experienced with writing, editing, record keeping, photography and graphic design as well as technical computer expertise with various programs necessary to complete assignments.

Experience: Work or volunteer experience with breed organization, public relations, advertising or marketing agency or other relevant experience. Knowledge of the show horse and equine industry required.

Requirements: Must have valid U.S. drivers license and able to work in the United States. Must be able to travel to selected shows and events. Respondent will furnish computer with access to internet and appropriate computer programs as required.

Salary: To commensurate with experience. Position required works on a yearly contract from January 1 to December 31.
