AHHS Limited Breeders Sweepstakes Grand Event

The 2017 AHHS Grand Event and LBS Stallion Auction kicks off Friday, March 24th at Ceasar’s Horseshoe Casino Southern Indiana in Elizabeth, IN. Sponsored by Saddle Horse Report, the Grand Event begins with the AHHS hosting a Meet and Greet. A cash bar will be available as well as appetizers, compliments of Toni Nastali. AHHS members are invited and encouraged to attend. The highlight of the evening will be a presentation by world’s champion breeder Darrell Kolkman. He will provide insight that will entertain and educate you about the Hackney breed. A question and answer with Kolkman will conclude the evening.

Kathryn and Carl Nichols sponsored the AHHS Saturday Breakfast, while Dr. Mark Hyatt and Mary and Jeff McClean will sponsor the Limited Breeders Sweepstakes Auction Dinner. Also contributing to the weekend, John and Charlotte Wrather, Alicia and Matthew Schuckert and Carol Lawson and Melvin Jennings are sponsoring the Youth Activities.

The Limited Breeders Sweepstakes committee announced that world’s champion Handsome Harry will be the feature stallion. This will be the first and possibly only time this son of world’s grand champion Twin Willow’s Handsome Dan and Heartland Mary Belle (by King’s Brass) will be available to the general public. In addition to his world’s titles, Handsome Harry has the distinction of being the sole winner of both the AHHS LBS Weanling and Three-Year-Old Performance events.

All proceeds from the Feature Stallion will be added to the prize money for the AHHS LBS Three-Year-Old Performance class. The LBS Committee is grateful for the continued support of Golden Creek Farms with their donation of the stallion service to the 2016 World’s Champion Harness Pony Stallion/Gelding, Handsome Harry.

Dinner reservations for the Limited Breeders Auction that are made and paid for prior to March 10, 2017 will be $40 a plate, while those made after March 10 are $60. Credit cards and PayPal accepted with a 3% processing fee. Reservations can be made by contacting the AHHS office at (859) 255-8694.
