ACS Ride For Life Sets Show Date

The third annual American Cancer Society Ride for Life Horse Show has been set for June 29, 2002. The show times are 10:00 a.m. (youth show), 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The show will be held at the Tazewell County Fairgrounds in Tazewell, Va. This show will feature over 50 classes for American Saddlebred, Western, Arabian, Standardbred, Racking, Paso Fino, Roadster, and Miniature Horses.

The show will also have vendors, concessions, pony rides, and an exhibitor’s hospitality tent with live music and a free skin cancer screening to ticket holders. The horse show committee is made up of veteran exhibitors who pledge to make it “exhibitor friendly” with good southern hospitality.

The ACS Ride For Life Horse Show will feature top prize money, silver trays, and neck ribbons to the winning horses. Youth Show winners on Saturday morning will receive neck medallions and there will be a high point trophy. There will also be an ASHA Junior Judging competition held during the show.

The purpose of this show is to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, create awareness of its programs, and provide a quality horse show for the exhibitors and the community.
