Submit Your Application To Compete In The International Saddle Seat Competition



Plans are underway for an International Saddle Seat Competition with US and Canadian Riders on June 27-July 1, 2023 at Cascade Stables in New Orleans, LA.

The deadline to submit your application to the US Saddle Seat Association is going to be February 15, 2023. Selectors will review the applications and notice will be provided to all applicants by March 1, 2023.

Canada will field a team of three-gaited riders and US Saddle Seat Association will field one three-gaited team (White) against Canada; and then two five-gaited teams (Red and Blue) of US and possibly other country riders who will compete against each other. Teams will consist of six riders on each team.

1. In order to apply applicants must be 12 or older as of January 1, 2023. 
2. Applicants will be required to submit a short video link (2-5 minutes) showcasing riding abilities for the selectors to view.
2. Applicants who are selected will be asked to pay a participation fee of $2500 prior to the event. This covers hotel, meals, transportation during the event, and team apparel, but does not cover ceremony attire and/or flight/transportation to the event.
3. Riders selected will be asked to purchase ceremony attire (link will be provided by US Saddle Seat Association)
4. Riders will be asked to room with another team member during the event.
5. Riders may be asked by their coaches to provide status updates and videos of practicing prior to the event.
6. Riders will be transported by bus (coaches driving) at the event, but will need to get to/from the event hotel on their own.
