The Southeastern Hackney Horse Association held their annual meeting and awards banquet on February 24th at the Best Western Plus in Burlington, North Carolina. Three guest speakers were part of the festivities: James McCoury talked about the new DOT laws and Tom Lowry from Golden Creek Farms and Taylor Gregory from the American Hackney Horse Society also gave presentations.

Elections were held with new officers named. The slat includes President Bo Lucas, Vice-President Denise Trethaway and Secretary-Treasurer Sallie Turner. The Board of Directors includes Lewis Eckard, Mary Lou Mann Carrick, Bryan Earehart, Megan Whitby, Ryan Barlowe, and Max Ciampoli.

It was announced the Incentive Program take place again this year with the nomination fee being $25.00 and the payout in the seven Hackney Pony Championship classes will be $150. The Incentive shows are ASAC in Clemson, South Carolina, New River Valley, Dublin Virginia, Bluefield Shriners, Bluefield, West Virginia, ETSA, Morristown, Tennessee, Southeastern Charity, Conyers, Georgia, and Dallas Fall Classic, Dallas, North Carolina. Also, the Breeders Stake will be held at the ETSA  for three, four and five-year-old ponies.
