One of the greatest breeders of Hackney ponies ever, Darrel Kolkman passed away this evening (November 21). The Iowa resident, along with his wife Sandy, bred, raised developed and sold countless world’s champion ponies in all divisions from their Heartland Hackney Farm.
Kolkman’s knowledge of bloodlines and crosses was second to none and there are few things he enjoyed more than sharing that knowledge. The list of great ponies with the Heartland prefix is monumental.
