Obituary - Harold Poil

A top student of the legendary Garland Bradshaw while in the U.S., Harold Poil ventured to South Africa in the ‘70s and became a training legend himself. Poil passed away January 1 at the age of 71.
His Harold Poil Stables was located in Hekpoort, Gauteng, South Africa and from there he developed champions in all divisions for decades. He was the winner of the Five-Gaited Grand Championship at Bloemfontein with three different horses. Additionally, he won Bloemfontein’s Three-Gaited Grand Championship, Single Harness Grand Championship and Fine Harness Grand Champion during his career.
Poil is survived by his wife Dejane and daughter, Garland.
