Monday Matinee Highlights

The first 9:00 a.m. session of the week kicked off today’s competition with a couple younger age group equitation classes and a slew of pleasure classes for both the American Saddlebreds and Hackneys.

There were three splits of Adult Five-Gaited Pleasure winners (Pass With Care, CH I’m Something Wicked, Here We Are), two splits of Adult Show Pleasure Driving winners (CH Who, Katharine The Great), two sections for Junior Exhibitor Country Pleasure 13 & Under (Brookhill’s Knockout, CH Stonecroft Ring Leader), two splits of Junior Exhibitor Five-Gaited Pleasure (Kiss Goodnight, Lucky You Lucky Me), and two sections of Junior Exhibitor Show Pleasure 13 & Under (CH Redesigned, Golightly Lite O’Morn).

Pony stars from the pleasure division included The Ivy League, Romeo’s Highlander LF, and Heartland Sugar Plum. The Road Pony Under Saddle class also had two sections with Heartland Party Time and Heartland Direct Hit making victory passes.

One of the deepest classes of the session was the Amateur Roadster To Bike where a strong group of veteran champions had the green sawdust spraying in the turns. The top five were Iamnotacow and Martin Schaffel, Cookie Monster and Justin Cowley, Ring Of Fire and James Miller, Track Star and William Shatner and Roller Coaster with Ed Aversenti.

We gather again tonight at 6:30 with the Junior Three-Gaited Over 15.2 Stake kicking off 18 scheduled classes.
