Lexington, Ky. - On the evening of Friday, April 9, the Grand Opening of the Showplace for Saddlebreds was held at the American Saddlebred Museum on the Kentucky Horse Park grounds in Lexington, Ky. The event showed off the brand new wing the museum, and all the upgrades done to the original museum. Laurel Nelson thanked all the donors, and then Don Harris made a special tribute to Roz Harris and all the work she put in to making the Saddlebred Museum a reality. A complimentary Maker’s Mark Bourbon Tasting was also featured, giving the Saddlebred enthusiasts an opportunity to try out the red wax while browsing the wonderful collections of the breed’s history. The expanded museum is sure to be a highlight to all horse enthusiasts at the 2010 World Games.
