ASHA Announces ASHA Youth Scholarship Recipients



Each year the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) recognizes its junior members age 21 and under, on the basis of academic success, financial need, involvement with the American Saddlebred and ASHA Youth programs, and extracurricular activities including community service.  The purpose of the scholarships is to encourage, support and recognize participation in all aspects of the American Saddlebred industry, as well as to strengthen the American Saddlebred industry and breed through education.  This year the ASHA is presenting three $5,000 scholarships.  The ASHA is very pleased to announce the following three recipients this year.

Shelby Erickson
Shelby Erickson from Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  Shelby rides with Hillview Stables in Elizabethtown and plans to attend the University of Louisville pursuing a Biology degree.

Rachel Sanford
Rachel Sanford from Mooresville, North Carolina. Rachel rides with Boones Farm and Stables in Concord, North Carolina. Rachel will attend Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina pursuing an Accounting degree.

Emily Burg
Emily Burg from Scottsdale, Arizona. Emily rode with Bridleway Stables which has now transferred to High Spirit Farm in Scottsdale, Arizona. Emily plans to attend the University of Kentucky to study Equine Science.
