AMHA and AMHI Kick Off Capital Building Campaign

Shelburne, VT —The American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA) and The American Morgan Horse Institute (AMHI) recently kicked off a Capital Building Campaign and are pleased to announce the receipt of donations totaling more than $35,000 to date. Julie Broadway, AMHA Executive Director, stated, “The American Morgan Horse Institute [which sponsors the National Museum of the Morgan Horse] and AMHA are pleased with the wonderful response we’ve received to this campaign. We are celebrating 20 years in Shelburne, Vermont, in 2008, so it’s only fitting that the facility receive some updates.”

The post and beam structure is located at the corner of Route 7 and Bostwick Road in Shelburne, next to the Shelburne Museum and houses the Association’s staff, the National Museum, extensive archives and art of the Morgan breed, and a riding ring for demonstrations. The Building Committee presently is planning a 20-year celebration gala in Shelburne for May 2008 and hopes to have many of the repairs completed in time to showcase the facility.

Donations to support the restoration and renovation of the National Museum of the Morgan Horse and AMHA Headquarters can be made to AMHI c/o Capital Building Campaign, P.O. Box 519, Shelburne, Vermont 05482-0519. For more information, contact Julie Broadway at execdir@morganhorse.com or (802) 984-4944, ext. 26.
