NTASHA/UPHA FALL CLASSIC

October 4-7, 2012, Ft Worth, TX

Located in Fort Worth TX  Will Rogers Memorial Center. Manager - Brent Cowan [email protected]  214-679-8597. www.ntasha.org

Saddle Horses and Tennessee Walking Horses will move to the The Will Rogers Memorial Center in Ft. Worth, TX, October 4-7 for the annual North Texas American Saddle Horse Association and UPHA Chapter 6 and 7 Fall Classic. For decades, show horses showed between rodeo events during the Ft. Worth Fat Stock Show in the main show arena. This year, they will have the smaller W. R. Watt Arena, located in the Moncrief Building, to themselves.

Sandra Lilly, of Mercer Springs Farm, Princeton W.V., will mark the cards for all Saddle Horse, Saddle Seat and Pleasure Equitation and Academy classes.

Formerly the UPHA/Texas State Fair Horse Show, the event moved from the State Fair Grounds to Las Colinas Equestrian Center three years ago when NTASHA and UPHA Chapter 6 and 7 joined forces to sponsor the fall event. Scheduling and the addition of a fourth day to the show necessitated the change of venue, according to NTAHSA President Brent Cowan.

The Moncrief Building, completed in 1996, features a 100 x 200-foot show arena, theater-style seating, 90 x 150-foot warm-up arena, 320 x 44-foot exercise area, concessions, The Champions Restaurant and meeting rooms. Stabling will be across a private street.

The show features the American Saddle Horse Breeders Futurity of Texas, with classes for Weanlings, Yearlings and Two-Year-Olds, UPHA Three-Year-Old Classics and a full range of classes for every traditional Saddle Horse division in addition a wide variety of Academy and six Open English Pleasure Classes. A canine costume class is scheduled for Saturday and equine costume class for Sunday.

The show will benefit the Equest Handicapped Riding program. NTAHSA and the UPHA are raising funds through class, banner and t-shirt sponsorships.
