The Tanbark Cavalcade of Roses Horse Show, Minnesota's largest and most competitive Saddlebred show, is planning to be better than ever! The show will be held June 22-25, 2011, at the State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Tanbark gets rave reviews from exhibitors. The Tanbark experience is more than just a horse show. It’s also special features like ASHA Junior Judging, champion banners to recognize great horses, exhibitor parties, baskets of goodies for sponsors, hospitality galore and that welcoming Minnesota spirit.

Tanbark also supports some great causes. Tanbark proceeds benefit the We Can Ride therapeutic riding program, Saddlebred Rescue and breast cancer research. The show also supports Saddlebred activities in Minnesota. Tanbark is an Emerald Sponsor of the Minnesota Saddlebred Horse Association and sponsors classes at the the FASH, Spring Tune-up and Minnesota Futurity horse show. The show managers believe in actively putting the proceeds of the show back into Minnesota Saddlebred activities.

Here are some of the things that make Tanbark terrific:

UPHA Pink Ribbon class on Friday evening.

Grand National class - $1,800 Five-Gaited Open Stake on Saturday evening

Kids who love Saddlebreds and horse shows can try their skills at judging as part of the ASHA Junior Judging program. Top young judges will be honored with ribbons and awards.

It’s A-rated by USEF, so horses can earn points toward a CH.

A free tack stall will be offered to trainers who enter at least five horses and haven’t been to Tanbark since 2008.

A fun silent auction that benefits the show’s charities.

Honor your special horse with a champion banner hung in our party area. Funds support our hospitality.

A growing vendor area for your shopping pleasure.

Exhibitors will be treated to the finest Minnesota hospitality including exhibitor events every day!

Judging all classes will be Anne Speck (Valley Center, CA), A.J. Bruwer (Versailles, KY) and Kent Swalla (Columbia, MO).

Tanbark offers a complete schedule of 125 classes for Saddlebreds, Hackney Ponies and equitation, including UPHA Classics, qualifying classes for all the equitation finals and academy classes.

Tanbark will continue its tradition of providing outstanding exhibitor hospitality, including the popular baskets of food goodies for sponsors, parties and one of the finest center ring displays anywhere. The food service in the Coliseum serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wide variety of items, including many healthy choices. In keeping with the show’s rose theme, all winners get a rose bouquet with their trophy.

Exhibitors can browse the vendor area on the grounds, including the ever-popular garden plant sale. And the fairgrounds are just one mile from attractions like beautiful Como Park and its zoo, conservatory and golf course for a relaxing break between horse show sessions.

Show managers are Sally Snyder Tesch and Doug Lindstrom. Visit www.horseshowcalendar.com for a premium book and entry forms.
