SPRING WARM-UP


March 19-21, 2010, Cloverdale, IN

The second annual Spring Warm-Up will be expanding to an additional day in 2010. Co-sponsors UPHA Chapter 11 and the Indiana American Saddlebred Horse Association will hold the second annual event at Crossroads Arena and Expo Center, March 19-20-21 at Cloverdale, Indiana. Nancy Becker, Lexington, Kentucky, will judge all divisions.

The inaugural Spring-Warm-Up premiered to rave reviews in 2009, attracting top stables from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Missouri. The Crossroads Arena proved to be a hit with exhibitors and trainers alike. Although Located only 25 miles west of Indianapolis, the new, heated, indoor show facility features 500 stalls, large show arena, excellent footing, full size make-up ring, seating area, ringside tables, concessions and vendor space all under one roof. The show grounds is conveniently located 30 minutes west of Indy and 30 minutes east of the Illinois state line at the I-70/Cloverdale exit, Hotels and restaurants are located 5 minutes or less from the Crossroads Arena. Holiday Inn Cloverdale will again be the headquarters hotel.

The show provides a venue for Midwestern exhibitors to try out new teams and test seasoned veterans for the new show season at a first rate, convenient and affordable event. Joining the team again will be show secretary Judy McManama, photographer Terry Young and popular videographers SeeHorse Video. One of the most popular features of last year’s show, the vendor area adjacent to the box seats, will be expanded in 2010.

The Spring Warm-Up offers complete divisions for Saddlebreds, Morgans, open pleasure, Hackney ponies and equitation, plus extensive classes for beginning through advanced academy riders in saddle seat, hunt seat and western. The academy division will be the Championship finals for the UPHA Chapter 11 Academy Club but these classes are open to all Academy riders.

New events in the 2010 schedule are the NHS "Good Hands" qualifier, novice ASB pleasure classes, ASB western and hunt seat pleasure prospect events and a new Hackney pony division including Country Pleasure Driving and Road Pony Under Saddle. Back by popular demand will be the Saddle & Bridle Shatner, Hunt Seat Classic and Pleasure Medallion classes as well as several UPHA Challenge Cup classes.

Prize lists will be mailed in January. Entries close March 3 with post entries accepted; however, management encourages exhibitors to reserve stalls and ringside tables early – tables sold out in 2009.
